Voting Information

City Residents

All residents of the City of Dawsonville who are registered voters have the ability to elect the Mayor and city council members, or to vote on special referendums that affect the city. Please note that simply having a Dawsonville mailing address does not necessarily entitle you to vote in the municipal elections: Only residents within city limits are eligible. If you are unsure if you are located within the city limits, contact City Hall at (706) 265-3256 for verification.

City (municipal) elections are conducted and held in accordance with Georgia State law and City Charter and are generally held in odd years. Dawsonville has an intergovernmental agreement for Dawson County Board of Elections and Voter Registration to conduct the municipal elections.
